The public institution “Natura Histrica” is an institution for the management of protected parts of nature and areas of the ecological network in the County of Istria. Given that we consider education on nature protection to be a very important component in the education of young generations, we would like to establish more systematic cooperation with schools and include as many elementary school children from the entire Istrian County as possible in the educational programs.
We also believe that our programs can fit nicely into new teaching methods as part of the curricular reform being introduced in Croatian schools, and are suitable for inclusion in subjects such as nature and society, nature, geography, chemistry and biology, and as cross-curricular topics.
A public institution can offer multimedia presentations in school about protected areas or species of the Istrian County or presentations related to individual topics related to nature protection, according to the interest of the school. Also, a lecture can be held in the field near the school with practical work by students (eg a puddle, a forest or a lawn), as well as a half-day trip to one of the protected areas in the county.
We would also like to point out that it is possible to organize a full-day or multi-day educational program (up to 20 people) in the Scientific and Educational Center “Speleo kuća” in the village of Vodice in Ćićarija.
Please note that educational programs that take place in your school or its surroundings are free of charge, while programs in protected areas and the Science and Education Center “Speleo kuća” in Vodice are charged according to the applicable PRICEBOOK.

Therefore, we invite all elementary schools to cooperate, and we ask you to fill out and return the attached questionnaire in one of the following ways:

- scanned questionnaire by e-mail to the address: edu@natura-histrica.hr
- by mail to the address: JU “Natura Histrica” Riva 8, 52100 Pula
The deadline for sending the questionnaire is the 15th. October 2019.
After collecting and processing all questionnaires, we will create, in cooperation with schools, an education program that will take place in the second semester of the 2019/20 school year.
